Thank you, for believing in me, when I didn’t.
Thank you for standing by me, and when I falter, illuminating different ways I may not have known to do a lift or a more useful modification.
Thank you for not taking the weight for me, for letting work hard, for believing that I can, and letting me prove to myself that I can.
Thank you for “seeing” me. For not ignoring me, or passing over me because I suck that day, that month, or that year.
Thank you for showing up everyday, for opening the doors, turning the lights on, writing the workouts, being on time, being present, non-judgemental and ready to help me and anyone else passing through those doors.
Thank you for not comparing me to others. Instead you see my effort, and help me go just a little bit deeper each day.
Thank you for standing by me, sometimes for staying quiet, sometimes offering a word of encouragement or modification. Usually just feeling you there helps me correct sloppy form, and push just a little harder.
Thank you for saying my name, especially when I’m suffering through a hard workout. It helps me remember I exist separate from the pain of the moment, and that it’s temporary.
Thank you for pointing out small things I can do to move more efficiently and be more sustainable.
Thank you for creating such intuitive warm ups that intelligently prep my muscles and mind for the workouts.
Thank you for all the years you put into my training, all the times I didn’t listen the first time, for explaining it again, and again, for standing by after I fail over and over trying to get it right.
Thank you for fist bump after a ridiculously soul sucking workout, where I wanted to quit a billion times. If you keep showing up, so will I.
Thank you for leading by example.
Thank you for being authentically you, quieting your ego, quiets mine.
Thank you for being committed to my growth, believing I can, through all my excuses.
Thank you for being imperfect, and allowing me to be too.
Thank you for encouraging me even in my weakest moments, for recognizing that ANY and ALL effort matters.
I appreciate you, and am infinitely grateful for you as my coach.
